I believe the writer has good intentions, and can bring a great voice in a game like this alongside others who can properly bring this game to life. I read more of the author's articles on the guardian/kotaku, and sure, some can come off as click baity "hey look sex games" stuff, there is meaningful discussion in quite a few about sexuality (something I'm not comfortable reading/discussing) and queer games. A line was crossed, this isn't like her overwatch article with nsfw images of adult characters. It was basically a transcript of underage video game porn with no meaningful discussion/commentary and the inclusion of the images (thankfully removed) made it even worse.
